Dr. Isler is the tenth PhD student obtaining PhD from Bagci Lab!

Ilkin’s research advances medical image analysis in oncology by developing segmentation models with uncertainty quantification and anatomy-aware refinements, improving performance on lung and head-and-neck cancers. She demonstrated that tumor morphology and texture, rather than size alone, contribute to segmentation difficulty, and integrated deep learning and radiomics for more accurate and interpretable survival prediction and cyst classification, enhancing model robustness and clinical relevance.
